Today I finished a big section of data and so I allowed myself a break tonight. I attempted to knit but my hands weren't into it. Instead I decided to add the flower to the colored pencil drawing I started a couple weeks ago so I could call it finished, put that aside, and attempt something more detailed next time. What, I haven't figured out yet. But the butterfly and camas flower were very fun to do and I'm definitely going to keep working in this medium.
Exciting news! Tomorrow John and I are heading to Pullman, WA. I have a few work related things to get done but the main purpose of the trip is attending a talk given by Jane Goodall. I can't begin to write how excited I am to see this woman in person and hear her speak. I'll leave it at that and write about it once I get back this weekend. Also very exciting will be my first meeting with Cai Oregon Neil Johnstone-Yellin. Whew. Tamara and Jason's baby and the recipient of the baby hat/booties.
Only if we understand can we care.
Only if we care will we help.
Only if we help shall they be saved. -- Jane Goodall
