More paper piecing

So another gift I was going to give mom was a paper piecing wall hanging (the same pattern I posted a couple months ago, but different colors). I did not get that done before I went home so mom and I enjoyed some sewing bonding time...me working on her gift and her cutting/sewing a quilt she was working on. I'll bet 5 years ago she wouldn't have imagined we'd be doing such things together!

Since I'm the lovely daughter that I am and since I hate the binding part of the paper piecing experience, I left the unfinished hanging for mom to finish up! The pic is the finished piece minus the binding. Again, I thought an appropriate gift. Mom and dad have a black cat (originally my brothers, then mine, then my parents) that does the typical cat thing and sits on everything you are trying to work on...and mom loves to quilt. It turned out very well in my opinion! Paper piecing is fun to do but it starts taxing my little brain after too long and I tend to start sewing things on backwards. Best to only do in small doses!
