Moving on From Baby Items At Last!

To my knowledge, I do not have any other friends or family with brand new babies, currently pregnant, or even considering it right now. So I have done my last knitted baby item for awhile! I can't wait to get back to some of the other unfinished projects I have set aside for months now. And to get back into gourds and drawing.

So these 3 things go to my cousin and his wife who are expecting their baby very soon. They chose not to find out the sex of the baby so I tried to go with colors that would work with either sex. The specs for the bibs can be found at this post. The specs for the burp cloths that go with them are:

Pattern: Baby Genius Burp Cloth from Mason Dixon Knitting
Yarn: Just under one skein for each cloth of
Peaches&Cream Cotton
Modifications: Added a button to match the bib

The other item I think is very cute..a pom baby hat (named cuz of the little pom poms in the yarn). This set of patterns has some really neat hats/cardigans/blankets etc. I really liked this hat pattern...it was quick and easy to knit up and though I think it would have been easier to knit in the round, this was my first opportunity to learn to seam something and it turned out well (actually, tho not intended, my seamed side is facing the camera in this picture so you can be the judge). My only complaint is though I like the look and the idea of the poms in the yarn, trying to make sure even half of them ended up on the right side of the hat was a bit tedious at times. Anyway...the specs.

Pattern: #2 Striped Hat from Filatura Di Crosa Baby Extra
size 6-9 months.
Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Pom Yarn (blue) and Lovely Yarn (solid white).
Modifications: None

What a great blog! We knew you were a talented niece. The baby articles for the new grandbaby are wonderful.
Will call when the new one arrives, any hour now.
