Finished Scarf

So the scarf is DONE! I really like the colors, the feel of the yarn, and the pattern. Threw in a close-up of the pattern as well. The specs...

Pattern: Slanted Eyelet Scarf from Alchemy
Yarn: South West Trading Company; 100% bamboo. Color: Azul; 100g = 250 yards
Modifications: used more yarn so my length is about 77 inches instead of 50 inches like the pattern called for. I like the longer length much better though.

I also made the decision to keep going on the summer purse to have another project off
needles before starting something new...though as soon as I picked it up, I knew why I had put it down. This is knit with silk and aloo and frankly, though I like how it looks, I find it VERY hard to work with. I'm also finding my gauge is fairly off because I am knitting too tight (which is not normally a problem with me). But the aloo especially is so rigid that I'm having a hard time with it. I'm not worried enough about it being smaller to start back on larger needles...I'm not a purse or bag person normally (wallet in back pocket), but I do have a couple 'bags' that hold my checkbook, wallet, and keys that I hang around my neck and the bag sits about hip high. Even smaller than it's supposed to be, this bag will hold those items and that's all I care about. FYI--since I'm not a bag person, I really don't want the handle (you can see it in the product picture)...I think it looks nice, but just not for me! So I'm going to do something different and make a long strap...not sure how yet but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

That be it for me today...

Very pretty scarf - and such an interesting pattern. I like your purse, too. I always have a problem deciding what kind of handle to use on purses. I really dislike the bamboo ones - too stiff.

The scarf is beautiful. Hope I can make one like it on day without driving myself batty.
