Final FO's from 2007

I ended up the year doing a few small knits for gifts. They are posted on Ravelry, but here's more info about them here. Sorry for the crappy photos...several days of dreary, snowy weather in a row when I was trying to pack them up and ship them out.

Pattern: Lace Up Fingerless Gloves from Alterknits
Yarn: KnitPicks Wool of the Andes, worsted weight, color Amethyst Heather
Size: 8

Made for: T's birthday (back in November!)
Modifications: I did have to go to a needle size of 9 to get gauge with this yarn. Otherwise, no mods.
Verdict: I continue to love this pattern but as with the last pair, I do like the heavier tweed from the first set better. This will be my last pair of these for awhile. I will probably knit up a few other fingerless gloves this year, but from different patterns.

Pattern: #2 Striped Hat from Filatura Di Crosa Baby Extra size 6-9 months.
Made for: My technician who just recently had a baby boy.
Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Pom Yarn (blue) and Lovely Yarn (solid white).
Modifications: None

Pattern: Koolhaas Hat by Jared Flood
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Heather, color way Deep Teal
Size: men's
Made for: Marc (xmas present)
Modifications: To get gauge, I used needle sizes 5 and 7.
Verdict: I REALLY like this pattern and really liked knitting it up. I just felt I did the pattern injustice by knitting with a cheap acrylic yarn. However, the recipient can't wear wool on his head and so I tried to find something very soft that wasn't wool. This was what I came up with at the last minute. The yarn IS soft and I'm happy with how the hat turned out but the stitch definition is definitely not
as good as some other's I've seen using wool. I'd like to make another one of these in the future and use a nicer wool (like Malabrigo).

Pattern: Ballband Dishcloths from Mason Dixon Knitting
Yarn: Peaches and Cream Cotton, variety of colors
Made for: 2 for Mom, 2 for brother
Verdict: I LOVE this dishcloth pattern and will make many more I'm sure!

Nice FOs, but I have to concur, a Koolhaas out of Malabrigo is the bee's knees. Seriously.

Great FOs!! I am a ball-band lover myself - I'm actually considering attempting a ball-band rug (little crazy, no?)

ps the baby's striped hat is adorable!
