My Less Colorful Version...

Last year when I was working on the Irish Hiking Scarf (pdf), I saw a version that was done using Noro and really liked it. So I purchased 3 skeins to make one in the future.

Fast forward to my thoughts during the last painful rows of completing that scarf: While I love the pattern, and I loved the finished scarf, I knew when I got to the end of it, it would be awhile before I knitted another one (I think in my world, that's one of the dangers of knitting scarves, no matter how great the pattern is).
So I've been trying to find something to do with those skeins. Bring in the obvious choice, Noro Striped Scarf. I really like this scarf, but deep down I knew that I wouldn't wear something with that many 'bright' colors so I dropped the idea...until this spring when I was looking around a LYS in Idaho and saw these skeins (on the right).

An idea was born. My current favorite color combination (blues and browns)...

Pattern: Noro Striped Scarf
Yarn: 2 skeins Noro Kureyon (browns; color 149)
2 skeins Wisdom Yarns Sonnet (blues; color 783)

Needles: Size 7
Modifications: None needed; CO 39 stitches
Time: Started May 24. Finished June 1.

Verdict: Love this scarf! And just the type of easy, quick pattern I needed to start last weekend to get my mojo back!

**We watched The Diving Bell and the Butterfly this weekend...very well done movie and told through a very unique perspective. I'd recommend without hesitation. Said short and sweet, it's about the power of human spirit. This song ran through the credits.

I love the scarf! Another friend made one not too long ago...it always seems to turn out super cool. I may need to add that to my lengthening queue...congrats on the mojo resurgence! :)

Lovely!
Good to know that pattern helps with scarf mojo. I have the same scarf problem, I have 2 scarves OTN. Have eyed that pattern for a while now...

Awesome! It looks like a great pair of faded jeans and will be the perfect accessory for the same. Nice work.

Love the scarf & it's gorgeous colors. Unfortunatey I can't use Noro as I am allegic to the dyes. Thanks for visiting my blog & the nice comment on my chevron scarf.

What lovely colours! I've really enjoyed seeing the baby pictures over the last few days - what variety of deer are they?

My favorite colors too so I love this scarf! I came over from Octopus' blog and yes, I am a fellow knitter who rarely blogs about it. No idea why.

That's really something. The colors are great. Noro is sort of magic.
