FO: Prairie Tunic

Gathering up all my WIPs and laying them out for all to see really seemed to have motivated me to start finishing some knits up. I won't say the temptation to start something new isn't there...I fight it often...but I'm continuing to stick to my goal of getting at least 3 WIPs completed before casting on anything else. In fact, I've actually finished 2 projects, with a third only a few hours away. Today, though, you get Prairie Tunic since I finally was able to get some pictures (thanks San!).

Pattern: Prairie Tunic by Veronik Avery
Yarn:
Just under 5 skeins of Jaeger Seina in lt. blue (100% Cotton) discontinued

Price of Project:
Since this yarn is discontinued, I got it at close-out prices. Total cost was ~$15
Project Duration: 6/28/08 -- 8/17/08

Needles:
Size 3

Size:
36.5

Modifications:
None
Ravelry link: here

Verdict: I like almost everything about this project. The cotton was actually pretty enjoyable to knit with...soft and pliable. And despite knitting on size 3's, the top knit up pretty fast. I love the design and after checking the errata, I had no problems following the pattern. I had read on Ravelry that the biggest problem with the design was that it was too boxy -- I'd have to agree. I'm not sure how well dramatic waist-shaping could be incorporated into this design, but having at least a bit more shaping would probably make the garment more flattering for more body types. This is really only a small complaint on my end because I don't mind the fit.

I do though, need to find another top to wear under this tunic. As you can see, despite not being tight across the chest at all, the white is shining through in a rather conspicuous location.

It looks very pretty! That was a quick knit. The different stitch elements help keep you going on it.

It looks great!!! :-) A thought on the "white showing through"...you could always use some RIT dye and make the undershirt a similar color blue.
